Carole L. Downs

In June 2007, Carole
L. Downs became an independent marketing consultant to the wireless
communications industry. She subsequently co-founded Smartcomm, LLC
in October of 2007 and is currently the company's CEO. Ms. Downs
has extensive sales, marketing and management experience including
more than 20 years operating her own real estate company. Ms.
Downs' management expertise, along with her innate ability to build
and foster relationships are the foundation upon which Smartcomm
has been built and a major reason the firm is successful
today.
In June 2007, Carole L Downs became an

subsequently co-founded Smartcomm, L.L.C. in October 2007.
Carole's accomplishments prior to entering the wireless world
have been quite impressive:
In 1974, Carole became a licensed Real Estate Broker in the
State of Arizona. She spent her first three years in real estate as
one of the highest producing residential sales associate for one of
Phoenix's largest real estate companies.
In 1976, Ms. Downs, along with two business partners,
established a National Referral Service for Realtors. She was
responsible for the company's marketing and sales program which
ultimately resulted in building the 4th largest national referral
company with over 200 Realtor Members in 200 cities. The company
was sold to its largest competitor in 1979. Carole spent 20+ years
presiding over her own real estate company.
Carole's management expertise, along with her innate ability to
build and foster relationships are the foundation upon which
Smartcomm has been built and a major reason we are successful
today.
Since 2007 Ms. Downs has immersed
herself in the wireless communications business. She is an active
member of CTIA - The Wireless Association, the Arizona Technology
Council, National Association of Broadcasters, Radio Club of
America, the Rural Cellular Association, the National Association
of Professional Women, and the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Downs took on a leadership role in
the reorganization of a client company that seeks to partner in the
construction and operation of a new mobile broadband network.
Carole Downs brokered her own real
estate company, First Award Real Estate, for more than 20 years.
Her real estate experience encompasses commercial building and land
sales, residential sales and property management, as well as
investment consultation. Related family businesses in architecture
and construction have provided the opportunity to assist her
clients with planning, re-zoning, preliminary design and
construction management of projects of all sizes.
In 1974, Carole became a licensed Real

Ms. Downs attended the Arizona State
University Real Estate Broker Preparation program from 1974-75 and
successfully completed the courses to obtain a Broker's License in
the State of Arizona and the GRI Designation from the National
Association of Realtors.
She was elected by the National
Association of Professional Women as the 2011/2012 "Professional
Woman of the Year" for her outstanding leadership and commitment
within her profession.
